Dude moms do that shit. My mother used to do it all the time when I was younger and had my closest friends over. There was even a time when she planned a girls night for me, my best friend, my best friend's mother, and another friend just so she could give a lecture about abortions in an attempt to convince my friend's mother to make her get one if she ever got pregnant too soon.

My boyfriends' mom did that all the time. I know wayyyy more about her than i need to.

At least you're informed. Some parents don't tell their kids jack shit about sex, thinking the Sex. Ed. class in school will be informative enough, which is usually just preaching ABSTINENCE! (How unhelpful for the real adult world) Though it wasn't really the best place or time (your friend being there and all) be glad she actually went through with the talk. I doubt she wants any grandchildren while you're a teen, so listen to what she said instead of spazzing because your friend was there.

Oh well, consider yourself blessed compared to people with parents who get extremely angry about even the idea of sex entering their kids' minds. She loves you, is willing to give you some freedom, wants to educate you and make sure you're safe, and isn't embarrassed about that. It's still awkward that she found enough to talk about it for a whole three hours, but eh, it could be a lot worse.
