Today, my mom informed me that she doesn't wash my clothes anymore. Instead, she sprays them with Febreze to "save money". FML

The issue is not doing their own laundry!! The point it the mom doesn't want to in order to save money, so I really doubt they'd be allowed to wash the clothes themselves anyway!

Given the cost of detergent vs. the cost of Febreeze (and how much use you get out of each), what the mom is doing really doesn't make sense if she wants to "save money". The only point where she's saving money is not putting them in the dryer... and if that's the case then you could air dry clothes on a drying rack or clothesline for much less than spending all that money on Febreeze. Even if they were using a laundromat (which I doubt, since I think the OP would've noticed the lack of trips to there) it's still probably more expensive or they're just breaking even. Because of that, it sounds more like the mom is doing this to gross out the OP and get them to do their own laundry so she's not stuck with it.
