Today, my mom's dog saw a cat in our yard. I watched as he tried to jump at it, only to smack face-first into the window. He did this twice more before curling up on the floor and whimpering pitifully. When my mom came in and saw him there, and me laughing, she accused me of beating him. FML

Chances are the dog hasn't learned his mistake, so just wait till that pesky cat passes by and take out your phone. The video should be solid proof as well as a possible YouTube sensation.

That sucks, your own mum thinking you'd beat up her dog. Maybe try and counter your negative reputation by playing with the dog or giving it some treats?

My housemate's dog did this except he broke the window with his excitement. I was outside with my cat and clearly he was upset he wasn't invited. Fortunately no damages have occurred except to the dog's machismo and the way your mum feels about you. That's a big leap to go from nothing to 'you beat the dog'.

My dog went through a window to get to the cat on the inside. He needed a few stitches on the back of his front leg. The cat was fine.
