Today, my mom signed me up for a swimming class to show my sister there's nothing to be afraid of. Considering I'm 17, I assumed I'd be in an advanced class. Instead, I get to spend summer blowing bubbles in the shallow end with four-year-olds as my little sister cheers me on from the steps. FML

On the bright side, you're not drowning.

Just keep swimming! Just keep swimming! Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming! What do you do? You swim!

What are you doing just blowing bubbles??? Show those urchins how it's done and leave them sputtering in your wake, all while tonting them. An extra fifty points if you make them cry!

Just don't row them down a waterfall, OP!

At least it's a good bonding experience! 1st world problems...

oh well, at least you get to be the best swimmer in your group !

This is not the ideal place to bond with your sis, but give it a try.

Be proud OP. not only are you showing your lil sis that she is going to be safe when she does it, but you are starting from the bottom, which means by the time you reach the top, you will be even better. I'm 21 and I can honesty say that I can't swim. i almost failed P.E. in high school because my teacher made us swim. Hell, I can barely float, but you can and soon your little sister will too. :) you are a good role model.

I'm pretty sure u can work out a solution for a switch to the older class , just ask Someone who works there

Maybe you'll be able to test out of it?? talk to the instructor.
