Today, my mom sold my Magic box at a garage sale because I "never use it." Locked inside it was my fake ID, a couple of hundred bucks, and a bag of weed. She can't remember who she sold it to. FML

Did you explain all of this to your mom? Well guess now if cops ever search your house you'll have no reason to be arrested. Have fun living the legal life.

What's with parents giving away their kid's items without the common decency to check with them first?

Youre an idiot for smoking? Did you believe the reefer madness movie as well? If so youre a fu**ing hypocrite.

I'm surprised that 1)your mother didn't feel anything in the box and 2)she couldn't smell the weed. It does have a strong smell most of the time. It's a shame you lost so much money, fyl.

Too bad that degree in business marketing wont save you from being a fool.

Just perhaps, if your mother truly could not remember who she sold your secret stash in your secret box to, than the proverbial cat is now out of a proverbial bag of catnip. And your secret wasn't such a secret after all.

You are a terrible person. You deserved it.

I wonder how the mom would feel if you sold her wedding dress. "You never wear it, Mom! Quit living in the past! I got 20 bucks for it, get over it drama queen!"

There is a major difference selling some old box she thinks she never uses and a wedding dress that costs hundreds to thousands of dollars and holds sweet memories. That is a horrible idea. -.-

Since you clearly missed the point, let me break it down for you. If it doesn't actually belong to you, don't assume that the person doesn't want it and get rid of it on their behalf. If it's not yours, then you have no right to sell it.

Which is why you wouldn't sell your mom's wedding dress on the basis you never see her wear it anymore. Just because she doesn't wear it every other day doesn't mean it's not something valuable or important to her. I hope I don't need to explain it any further then that.

Shall I add another soapbox to the pile, or are you happy standing on just five, champ?
