Today, my mom started dipping into my college savings, just so she can continue throwing money away on visiting a medium who claims she can channel the spirit of our recently-deceased family dog. FML

Well, you mom could be in pain, or just crazy.

If your mother's seance leader was very short and disappeared without a trace, there would be a small medium at large.

Tell your mom to keep her paws off of your money

just buy her a ouija board and tell her to talk to the dog through there, she is still being crazy but at a lower one time prize...oooh and for the record thats creepy.

You are in Texas. Tell your mum that mediums are the devil!

Yeah, because all Texans are religious zealots. That's not an ignorant assumption at all. >.>

Fml that people in 2012 still believe in this crap, as well as enough to throw away money.

You do not know any real mediums. They are either lying, or fooling themselves. There is absolutely *no* scientific evidence that says otherwise. Tell your magical friends they can use their "evolved spiritual state" to claim the cash prize from the James Randy Educational Foundation if they can prove they have powers.

Whole new meaning to barking up the wrong tree.

Dipping into your savings was a lousy move. But if you think a college education is worth what it costs in the US today, you're not much smarter than your mother.

Ok, so I don't think anyone has mentioned the obvious here... OP can and take out student loans yes it sucks and yes OP's mother has lost her mind for dipping into the college fund for this but with the way college tuition is these days OP most likely needs the loans anyway so OP needs to talk to her mother and salvage what's left of the fund take out those loans and get an education and start her future

I have to agree with you. Mediums are entertainment, and if the customer is too stupid to realize that, it's not the entertainer's fault! No different from somebody who frequents a strip club who thinks one of the strippers actually likes them.
