By I write sins not other people's essays - 12/05/2016 03:13 - United States - King George

Today, my mom woke me up in the middle of the night to make me help my brother write an essay. I read what he wrote so far, gave him my suggestions, and went back to bed. She woke me up 30 mins later because he just sat and stared at his paper instead of fixing anything. Somehow that's my fault. FML

Since you were awoken in the middle of the night, I'm assuming your brothers paper was due the next day. Maybe he would not have needed help had he not procrastinated. That should not be your problem, especially in the middle of the night.

Maybe if you just stare at your mom for 30 minutes instead of helping, she will write the essay herself and leave you alone ...

Tell your mother go back to the bedroom and breed better intelligence.... Or take your own damn parenting

The same thing happened to me except I eventually had to write it.

And this is why intelligence is decreasing exponentially.

It sounds like a mom playing favorites and you're getting the brunt of it. You could either accept the fault of your brother not being able to accept the suggestions, or you could take this opportunity to show what you won't do in the future. I grew up with the mentality that I had to say "yes" to everything and deal with the consequences later. I recommend you say "yes" to helping and "no thank you" to accepting the blame.

did anyone else see that Panic! at the Disco reference? No, just me? okay then...

As someone with a Bachlors in the field of English, I would tell your mother she is hindering your brothers learning. He is going to have to recive the grades that reflect his efforts, not yours. As someone who also has a Bachlors in Psychology, you, without an accurate amount of sleep are going to hinder your own learning. A great deal. Sleep is essentially for cognitive brain function.
