Today, my mom woke me up in the middle of the night to make me help my brother write an essay. I read what he wrote so far, gave him my suggestions, and went back to bed. She woke me up 30 mins later because he just sat and stared at his paper instead of fixing anything. Somehow that's my fault. FML

Today, I turned in an essay after staying up late to work on it. I was away when the teacher assigned it, so I'd asked my friend what the subject was. It transpires that she'd given me the wrong one, all because she was mad at me for not returning her pencil. FML

Today, I submitted my 5000 word assignment. When I got home, my mother asked if I'd checked it through one more time like she always warned me to do. I hadn't, therefore hadn't noticed the paragraph on page 11 that she'd written, telling me to pay attention to the small details. FML

Today, I woke up early, went to the gym, then came home and showered. When I went into my room to change, my mom woke up and started pounding on my door, screaming about how lazy and useless I was for sleeping so late. When I tried to tell her otherwise, she grounded me for "talking back". FML

Today, I wanted to do something nice for my mom. So, while she was sleeping, I cleaned the whole house for her and even made her breakfast. A few minutes later, she came downstairs and yelled at me to keep it down because she was trying to sleep. FML

Today, my mother woke me up by loudly vacuuming the house. I had to work the next morning, so I asked her what she was thinking. She told me that if I was really tired and needed sleep, I wouldn't have woken up. It was 3 AM. FML

Today, my mom let my younger brother borrow my car. He managed to crash it through the garage door. While I was in another country. Somehow, I manage to get berated by my mom because I'm not doing enough to make my brother feel better about him having an accident involving my car and my house. FML

Today, I had three days off work. My mom woke me up for work on all three of those days, despite my repeatedly asking her not to. When I actually had to go to work this morning, she didn't wake me up. At least I wasn't late. FML

Since you were awoken in the middle of the night, I'm assuming your brothers paper was due the next day. Maybe he would not have needed help had he not procrastinated. That should not be your problem, especially in the middle of the night.

I understand how you feel OP. My brother is registering for community college and I tell him in detail what to do, get he claims he "can't". It's to hard or some other excuse even though I told him exactly what needed to be done! I figured it all out on my own when I did it, yet he's to lazy to even try unless I'm right next to him.

My brother was like this as well. He still hasn't even completed grade 10 (he's 24!!) because he wouldn't even hand in the work that I did for him after HE didn't do it..... Laziness and stupidity to the max

Helicopter moms at their worst. If kid didn't do his essay on time or didn't prepare for it, that's the kids fault. Time to let them suffer the consequences of their actions. No one learns by mom rushing in to save the day.
