Today, my mother called me downstairs to give me what I assumed was going to be "The Talk" (About four years too late). So she sits me down, holds my hands, and with the gentlest, most motherly expression on her face tells me, "Honey, if you ever come home pregnant, I'll kill you and the baby." FML

Wow O_o I can't believe how much of a response this thing is getting(first post ever...) But for clarification:(Skip if you want...Blah) a) Since my mother was willing to beat me with a metal end of a broom for claiming Hitler and the events of the holocaust were wrong and has a machete at the ready underneath her bed, the threat was/is to be taken seriously, wouldn't you think... (Is she still hilarious?) b) Kill me, sure, but THE KID??? c)I would've loved for my mother to have been concerned/open enough with me to have an actual conversation about sex... Blegh -_-

Thank you #21 & 31... Everyone seems to generalize teen pregnancy. I had my son when I was 17, obviously it was unplanned and I knew better. I have never recieved wic, food stamps or any other goverment assistance other than health insurance for him for a few months until I was eligable for it at 1 of my 2 jobs. I paid my parents to watch him when I was working. When I was not working he was with me. I have supported my child, not the state, and he was not bounced around to whomever would take him. As far as abortion goes, I do not agree with using that as a contraceptive. I understand abortion but there are too many places willing to provide kids with birth control and condoms for free. As far as adoption goes, there are soo many people who deserve and want to be loving parents that just don't have the ability to do it on their own and they appreciate those unselfish people who know they cannot parent or provide their children with all they need.

Did I read the comment about Hitler wrong? Did your mother threaten you because you said what he did was wrong or do you not believe it happened??? If you said Hitler was wrong by what he did then your mother needs a baseball bat. Get as far away from that as possible!
