I guess the rules have changed when I gave birth there wasn't to be any recording devices of any kind apparently it really hurts the hospital in malpractice suits.
I had no idea it was ever not legal to record a birth. And it's been nearly a decade since I've had babies. I watched everybody's videos that I could get my hands on when I was pregnant to prepare myself. OP, that's bullshit. I'd be furious. I may never speak to my mother again. What an invasion of privacy!
I think it depends on the state and hospital. I had a c-section, so there couldn't be anything in the room. But I know people that were allowed to in a different state and area.
Hey look on the bright side it wasn't the conception
Mom might have to ask for that video to post...
There are many mothers that do post their birth videos, especially those promoting "natural" births, but your mother should have asked you first OP.
IDK, I don't like how "natural" births are seen as so much better than other births, like somehow your body has failed if you can't push out a baby without any painkillers. I saw a post on Facebook the other day that said "real women don't need epidurals". So everybody who's had a C-section or had to have drugs had a "fake" birth?! Or whose body was too thin or weak to push the baby out? Or the baby just plain refused to come out so had to be induced? Nah, I'm pretty sure those are "real" births too. It's very difficult to draw a distinction between what's "natural" and what's not. If you increase the chance of a healthy birth by taking supplements and vitamins, it's technically not natural. The whole process is mediated by the hospital telling you when you can have a scan, what you should and shouldn't be doing. The way we give birth is also a product of our culture (on our backs as opposed to on all fours or squatting). Basically what I'm saying is that no type of birth is "better" than another. You do what you need to do to give birth.
I had to be induced for a day and still didn't get far enough to have any type of pain meds. It did not make my experience better. Then I had to have a c-section. I get people telling me all the time that I didn't birth her, it doesn't count. How does that not count? She grew and came out of my womb didn't she. What's the difference in how she comes out as long as she's healthy.
dont you just love technology?
Um...take it down?
That's nasty! Nah, I kid :)

I love how people say that there is nothing more beautiful than the miracle of childbirth. The only people who say that have never actually seen it.
Ewwww
