Today, my mum had no legitimate reason to have her daily yell at me, so she resorted to bitching me out for putting her phone on charge after it started beeping with a low battery warning. FML

Today, my mom took my cell to work with her. When she got home later, she scolded me for not answering her calls. When I pointed out that she'd taken it, she grounded me for "talking back". FML

Today, I accidentally left my bedroom light on all day. When I got home, my mum screamed at me for wasting electricity. This is the same woman who leaves the TV on all day while she’s at work, all so our dogs have something to watch and won't be “bored”. FML

Today, my mom grabbed my phone, said she was taking it because I'd been disrespectful, and hung up my call. I'd been speaking with a work client. This is the gratitude I get for paying all her bills for the past 2 years, all because she's too lazy to get a job. FML

Today, I got yelled at by my mother for making noise after midnight. What was the noise? The microwave as I made something to eat. I work the night shift and had just come home from work, and I'm the only person in this house with a job. Apparently, me not paying her overdue bills cancels that out. FML

Sometimes people just want an excuse to be mad about something. I know the feeling; I used to go through that with my mom all the time. Fun story: after I'd moved out on my own, she once screamed at me and locked me out of her house over a candy wrapper that I'd dropped while visiting and forgotten to pick up. ONE LITTLE WRAPPER. FYL. Hopefully you and your mom can get on better terms someday. I did with mine, so don't lose hope.

My grandma, who I live with, does the same thing. It sucks when someone actively seeks out reasons to be a bitch, and you can't call them out on it because of how much they do for you that they hold over your head, as if it gives them free reign to treat you however they want.
