That just makes no bloody sense. I say call the cops and have them stop it. It's just plain ******* ridiculous . These are obviously the type of people who don't care about anybody but themselves. It's must be driving your other neighbours crazy as well.

If it were me, I would start by seeing if there is a sign in their window or yard with their security company's name/phone number, then calling them to explain the issue (there might be a setting they can alter remotely. If no joy, then I would try raising the neighbors (not first b/c they are distant and therefore likely impotent), to see if they have a relative w/keys or etc who could assist. If not an option or unhelpful, then yes I would involve law enforcement to assist, on three grounds: 1) yes, nuisance/disturbing the peace -- illegal 2) to do a "wellness check" because that's NOT normal, so may be an actual problem 3) yes, could be either a dying/malfunctioning fire alarm , so could be a dangerous situation (even if no fire now, if the alarm dies then if there is a shorted wire or such in the nine mos, no alert).
