Today, my newly ex-fiancé, the father of my 5-year-old child, moved out of state with no warning. I just spent my last $500 paying off his car, and the rent is due tomorrow. FML

Jerk. No one should leave their child and former love high and dry like that.

What a ******* douchebag! You have a kid and he just left like that!? I really don't ******* get people like this and I swear if I knew him I would enjoy slowly disecting his testicles. I'm really sorry but at least you realized it and let him go. I really wish the best for you and your kid.

Nail his ass! You can make him pay you back with the next 13+ years in child support! Have the court garnish that deadbeats wages!

What a dick. Tell your landlord the situation. Ask for an extension. You'll have a fine, but they will probably let you pay late. As for the douchebag- gouge his irresponsible ass- and sue him for palimony and of course child support.

alimony is only applied if they were married for 4-7 years depending on the state

(in response to the person who misread what i wrote) I said PALIMONY. not alimony. Palimony-noun- support paid by one half of an unmarried partnership after the relationship ends

What a Dick, hopefully he'll get what he deserves.

Why you paid off 'his' car? Let that ass get repo

if they were planing on getting married then after they did the repo would affect her credit as well

Have to say this is more of a ydi than fml. Nothing more important than keeping yourself sheltered and fed - especially as a parent. and paying out for a car before rent (especially a car that isn't yours in any way) is beyond foolish.

Unless that's the car that enables her to get to work, the grocery store, etc. It's not unheard of to put a car in a single person's name (i.e., the car I use is in my husband's name) thereby making it "his car" but she still needs it. Plus, like many others have said, they had probably spilt bill payment up based on paydays. She took care of the car and he paid the rent. People need to stop bashing OP just because she got screwed over by her guy -who should have been trustworthy (you know, father of her child, they were engaged, together for 5+ years...)

Look never be with someone who can't pay for His own shit

He is a ****, and I Never use that word, I would never do that to my girlfriend or fiancé

why would you pay off your ex's car? Take care of yourself first. I am assuming your child lives with you. Its more important for you and your son to have a place to live than your ex to have a car. His car is his own responsibility. when you break up with a man (obviously you had a good reason) you start making your son number one( which he should have been anyway) and yourself number 2.

"newly ex" meaning this is the incident that changed him from fiance to ex-fiance.

Easy, sell the jerks car!!! Cuz coming back to pick it up would be bad for his health
