Today, my obsessive ex, who recently cut my phone line to stop me from talking to my boyfriend of three years, got a job at the same restaurant where both my boyfriend and I work. FML

A 'bit of paper' that will send his ass to jail if he violates it. good luck with prosecution OP; I hope all goes well and they hit him with that book hard!

Phone line? Don't you have a cell phone or Skype? Oh and get a restraining order

Won't help you* in a situation where he's out to hurt you.

This is why I live in America and carry a gun, I also encourage as many of my friends as possible to carry firearms as well.

LOL False safety at its best. You might want to talk to some soldiers about being in a crossfire.

Just a bit of paper my ass. You get a restraining order on that nutjob and report him every time he violates it and suddenly that bit of paper is parole and then jail time.

Bits of paper? He'll have more issues if everything is bits of paper to him

I have found through my years of law enforcement that, when backed by a 12ga shotgun, protective orders can be quite effective

The UK has terrible gun laws #131.

OP, as a fellow Brit I know you can't carry a weapon of any sort, concealed or otherwise. You can only carry a personal alarm, and our only alternative to mace is a 'criminal spray' that physically marks them as your attacker. For this reason, I really recommend you start carrying some easy to use spray on deodorant, as it will work much like mace, and give you time to get away. You can even get a pocket sized one so you don't need a handbag and can carry it at all times. Just don't tell the police you ever intended to use it as a weapon.

Go to the police and talk to your boss. That man sounds dangerous.

#170 But it will give her boss grounds to fire him so at least he won't be at work with them.
