This is beyond the point where you call 911, and get a restraining order on his sorry stalker ass.

A restraining order doesn't stop him from coming near you and cops are notoriously resistant to enforce them. I resisted getting one for a long time because in order to get one Id have to inform the person where I lived and worked (after moving away) so he would know what places to avoid and that kind of defeats the purpose. I think all single women should apply for a concealed weapon permit but thats not really an option in the UK, which I guess is good because he cant get one either. Id let someone know where you are at all times (boyfriend, friend family member) and that they should be concerned if they cant reach you for extended periods of time. Tell your boss about the situation and be very careful getting to and from work. When you can get a new job, change your number, change your apartment if and when you can afford it. Its not fair but it just might save your life until he goes to jail. Consider getting a large dog (particularly found of German Sheppard's, pitbulls, dane mixes, giant Alaskan malamutes, and Rottweilers). Carry him in front of a judge every opportunity you get so you have documentation of his escalating and threatening behavior. This isn't a joke, I've personally held the hands of many women who think the problem is over just for the guy to suddenly come back extremely violent.

you need to tell your boss and get a restraining order. if he violates it then you call the cops. that bit of paper can send him to jail

As someone who was once stabbed by a crazy obsessive ex, get yourself some mace and soak the barbs from a tazer in it. That should work

Restraining orders are just pieces of paper, 0P. Make sure that you protect yourself, and be careful. Also make sure that your boyfriend is protecting himself as well. Set up cameras outside of your house to make sure there's no funny business, and if need be get yourself a weapon. This guy sounds like he's absolutely crazy, and I'm so sorry. But seriously, do whatever you need to do to protect yourself. A restraining order will help you, but it will help you in a situation where he's out to hurt you.
