Today, my parents heard from my sister that I'd recently lost my virginity to my girlfriend. I've never been bitched out so viciously in my life, and yet my sister, whom everyone knows has had numerous casual sexual partners this year, is treated like a princess 24/7. FML

Perhaps there's an age difference? Idk what to vote on this because really it depends on your age.

usually it's the other way around when it comes to losing your virginity....

Daddy must have some denial issues about his princess

Maybe your parents don't think you're ready... A lot of parents like to try and be unbiased, but they really aren't.

Tell your parents it was a threesome your sister set up for you.

That's absolutely disgusting.

OP, maybe your parents are hard on you because they expect more from you. As long as you were being safe, take their anger in stride.

Exactly what I was thinking. Most parents don't react calmly when they learn their child lost their virginity (mine didn't) so I wouldn't take too much offense to it. My mother was more furious that I didn't tell her and that my sister did; but it wasn't by my choice, my sister just beat me to it. . . So it's probably just like you said- the parents most likely hold OP to a higher standard.

Your mom was mad because you didn't tell her you lost your virginity? That's kind of weird, what parent wants to hear about their kid's sex life.

My parents were pretty cool with it. Lol my mom went in denial and my dad said "now I need another beer"

Your sister was just jealous that you can actually HAVE a relationship.

It really depends on age. She might be 20, you could be 13. Age matter a lot when it comes to these things.

That's what you call double standards, OP. But usually guys get away with having multiple partners while girls tend to get name called on.

Just making a guess here, maybe there's only two children (because a lot of families seem to have one boy and one girl child) That would make them both the only child of their sex in the family.
