Today, my sister and I were reading the new FML posts. I sat close to the fan, and after a few minutes, I leaned against it for support. It immediatly sucked up my hair and started violently twisting it. My sister continued to read and shouted at me because my cries for help are distracting. FML

You were sitting on the wrong side of the fan, you idiot! You're supposed to sit on the side that BLOWS, not the side that SUCKS. I realize that to you, blow and suck are synonymous since they are jargon in the only profession you have the mental acuity for, but fans are designed for you to sit in front of. The fan companies try to make it easy to tell which side is the front by putting the pretty logo on that side. They might have to be even more explicit for a dim bulb like you.

by the way, I dont mean hold the paper against th bck, hold it against the front, it doesnt matter. As the air moves back after hitting the paper it forms a suction backdraught.

As she leant against the fan she probably created just such a backdraught, her hair got caught in that and got sucked back into the fan, nothing to do with vacuums.
