You're not to blame, who would know that it's because of a death in the family?
As someone who has done something close like this before, just apologize after class and offer your condolences. That smooths things over, did with me. She actually made a joke from it but then again this is from my experience and who knows how your teacher takes this. I'm sorry for his loss, losing a parent can be very heartbreaking especially if it's sudden.
Yeah my teacher had to leave to go to Seattle for a funeral, no one saw that twist coming because she likes to keep the negative stuff for the very end
I don't blame you for thinking "Vegas = YAY!". A lot of this is dependent upon how your teacher phrased it, and what tone he had. I would think if someone had to go somewhere for something serious, he/she'd phrase it like "I have to go to Vegas," not "I'm going to Vegas!" If he just said the second option, you were rude for interrupting him, but you also had little way of knowing anything. YDI regardless just because this wouldn't have been an issue if you just let him finish, but I understand that you might not have known.
You jumped the gun a little bit there
Hopefully your grades aren't affected..
Homer moment
imma let you finish, but i just wanna say "whooo!"

What are the odds of him having to go to Vegas because of his dad's death?
Don't know if that was a gambling reference or not
