Today, my tire was a little low on air. I decided to put in a can of Fix-A-Flat and drive home. Since it was 10 degrees outside and snowing, the can became frozen to the valve. When I finally got the can off, I had ruined the valve, so I had to put on the spare tire. It was flat too. FML

1) Fix-a-flat is WORTHLESS. 2) Why use it to put in a tire that isn't flat in the first place? Idiot. 3) It leaves a nasty residue on your tire and rim. That wheel will never be able to achieve balance. And the person who will change your tire will kick your ass. 4) Always check your spare tire. There should be a flashing neon YDI for you, dumbass.

A tire being 'low' on air is NOT A REASON to use Fix-A-Flat (for FLAT tires, as in a hole is poked through and it WON'T hold air). Fix-A-Flat does NOT air up your tire. It only pours in a thick goop to temporarily patch a hole so that you can then ADD air so it would HOLD air.....Weather changes cause your air pressure to fluctuate, even monthly, or every couple of weeks. Sorry, my husband began his career as a tire tech, so this just makes me want to call you retarded!! Oh yeah, and the guy that repairs your tire will seriously curse you for using that crap...

i agree. entirely. using fix-a-flat around where i live lands you in the "tire guy wont even touch it" zone. have fun buying a new rim and tire.

You gotta check your tires pressure every week, and that includes the spare one.

exactly. Fix-a-flat is only for extreme measures. It seals holes in your tire too... If your tire was only a little low, why use it?

I can't help but wonder if you would be this harsh to Op if he was a woman.

Stop trying to put social commentary into a conversation about an idiot. If you really think FML is biased to a sex you clearly have not read the comments.

I had to use it once Peca use my tire was completely flat but I scrubbed the rim clean as soon as I could get a new tire. fix a flat is only for emergencies and should be avoided if at all possible.

Should've known it'd be that cold out. YDI, but FYL :C

#6 Fix a Flat actually DOES air up the tire as well as put the sticky shit in your tire. Either way OP is a dumbass and its a definite YDI As a general rule you lose 1 psi of air for every 10 degrees the temp drops

I hate when the temp drops 350 degrees. It's a pain in the butt airing up my tires.

Lmao. Someone's a bit of an idiot.

I don't own a car yet and I can't say much but this, be prepared.

How the **** are the FYLs outnumbering the YDIs on this one? OP sounds borderline clinically retarded to me.

I concur; OP should've just driven to a gas station and put some air in it. Or better yet, always keep an air compressor in your trunk that you can plug into your cigarette lighter.

I voted both and the fyl was becuz his spare was flat, (I suppose he could have checked it some time before but it's just ironic..... )

And this is when you got it into your head to check your Tyres every week.
