Today, my wedding is scheduled for next week. Today is also the day my whole family had an epic falling out, resulting in my mother disowning my brother. Apart from having them taking turns sobbing at me through the phone, they're also not coming to the wedding. I paid the hotel rooms in advance. FML

Today, I’m stuck in a situation. It’s my mom's wedding, but her fiancé had a heart attack and died this morning. Now I’m surrounded by crying people, having to pretend to be upset so no one gets mad at me. I couldn’t care less to be honest, the man was an arsehole who treated mom and me like shit in private. Today, I called my mom to make sure she could attend on the wedding day my fiancé and I had discussed. She started off with criticizing the venue we considered, then went on to criticize my fiancé, and then stated she would under no circumstances help out, but demanded to pick my wedding dress. FML

My brother in law got into a big fight with my father and mother in law the day before my wedding. He refused to attend and kept his son with him too. So basically we paid to fly him round-trip and have a hotel room for 2 days for nothing. While it was frustrating, we didn't let it get to us and you should try not to let it get to you either.

We had issues with family as well, but I made it pretty clear that I would have none of that to my wedding. If they didn't come and acted like a grown-up, I would disown THEM. Tell your family to get their shit together and start behaving. If they include YOU in their crap, tell them to stay away. You don't need people that are that petty in your life.

Sounds like they need to grow up. Plus, this day is about you, not them and their petty squabbles. They should be there for you, and at least put their bullshit aside for your day.
