Today, one of my teachers asked me to babysit their kids saturday night. She didn't forget that it was Prom night, she was going to chaperone it. My teacher assumed I wasn't invited to Prom... I wasn't. FML

I'm confused. Unless you're not a senior (well even that depends on where you live), why would you need to be invited?

That's messed up. But it's kind of lame to not go to prom just because you don't have a date. A lot of my friends just went in big groups and had fun. Unless you're saying you don't have friends at all, or ALL your other friends had dates except you... In which case, FYL for sure. Hey at least you'll be getting paid!

I think you should have charged her waaaaay more than regular cause it was prom night dont worry though take the 150 something dollars you would have spent to go to prom and buy yourself something nice you'll see that theres alot of things you can get that are better than a stupid highschool dance

Well, instead of feeling sorry for yourself, you should have gone with friends or even alone, where all your friends will be.

Its just a dance, I mean its not like u missed ur wedding. I hated prom, but I hated gettin all dressed up

Hm. Let's see. Spending mucho moolah on a tux/dress/car/tickets/photos/dinner, etc... Or making some money. HMMMMMMM.

I refused to go to prom. My girlfriend went with some friends because I had no interest in spending hundreds of dollars on a silly dance. I went to work instead.

The social construct of public high schools only foreshadows how ****** up people are in the real world.

The real world isn't at all like high school, and going to prom is a last-ditch attempt at holding onto that high school mentality. So really you're doing yourself a favour by being more mature than your classmates. Now that's only if you're a senior, otherwise you're a retard for wanting to go to prom when you're not even graduating.

Aww, it happens to the best of us. *hugs* Feel better...if you said yes to babysitting, at least you're making moolah while everyone else is spending it! :)

Charge her an extra 20% for having to babysit on prom night then. Not only are you saving yourself some money but you're gaining extra money.
