Today, one of my teachers asked me to babysit their kids saturday night. She didn't forget that it was Prom night, she was going to chaperone it. My teacher assumed I wasn't invited to Prom... I wasn't. FML

Today, I got a call from a girl I know, asking if I could babysit her little brother at my house tonight. I said yes. When the boy came over, he mentioned that his sister was having a party and didn't want him there. Turns out all my friends were invited except me. FML

Today, I had to work at the restaurant instead of going to the prom, which nobody asked me out to. For five hours, I got to shamefully greet and seat people on their way home from the prom, all of whom knew I was too lame to get asked out. FML

Today, a woman got out of a car to scream at me as I was walking with the kids I babysit, demanding to know where I was taking her children. Apparently the woman who pays me is also a babysitter, who I have been "covering" for on her party nights. The mother doesn't believe I didn't know this. FML

Today, I was invited to a party. Since I rarely get invited to any, I was super pumped. Both my parents work late, so I texted a couple of people to see if I could catch a ride. It turned out everyone's cars were full. I ended up missing one of the only parties I've ever been invited to. FML

Today, I was looking through my high school yearbook. I found a picture of myself and a couple of my friends at our senior prom. The caption gave the names of all my friends, their dates who didn't attend our school, and listed me only as "guest." FML

Aww, everyone who is saying "You don't need a date" would you REALLY want to go to prom alone? At my highschool as you walked in the dance an announcer called your name and your date's name as you stood up on this podium thing and everyone took pictures. I saw some fat ugly chicks up there alone. I would rather die.

You know, you don't HAVE to have a date to go to Prom. You could go with a few friends. It's not the end of the world. You shouldn't have to miss your Prom just because no one asked you.

@43: They didn't call out your name as you entered the Prom at my school. Going alone wasn't a big deal. And there's always the option of bringing a guy who doesn't go to your school.

i don't know where you live, but in Toronto (Canada), we don't have to be asked to prom in order to go. and even if we do get asked, it's mostly by friends of the opposite sex, not like 'crushes'. that's a little mean and just fits in perfectly with those stereotypical movies with the cheerleaders and jocks and nerds.. **** stereotypes!

I went to prom a couple of times and the dances were fun, but the best part was the beach houses afterward. Oh yes...good times.

your teacher asked you to babysit... is that allowed? And going to prom alone is fine. My friends did it. Personally, i like going with dates better but they still had fun = )
