Presumably they didn't start dating when one was 9 and the other 18. My parents also have a big age gap, but didn't meet until my mom was 19/20.

Something close like that happened to me except I'm the thirteen year old (actually 14), the girl was 17, and we both knew each other's ages while talking. We still talk to each other but she has said she liked many times and even broke up with her boyfriend because she thought I was mad that she was dating people. I really wasn't, and even told her to get back together with him, but she said that I was more important to her than him and it's been like that.

Age is just a number, jk but that's really unfortunate you should try and find a way to verify someone's age before next time? Or maybe look for people around where you live.
