If the girl can't handle something embarrassing your dad does then she is not the girl for you. Potentially you would want to have the girl in your life and if she is uptight enough to deem you weird because of what your parents did then it would be better not to pursue her. People shallow enough and uptight enough not to understand parents are not a reflection of their kids and a weird father is not the end of the world. Also, Op, your father might have come across as a little weird but you used to shit your pants, throw up on him and cry during important events. He took care of you and obviously you aren't destitute, are allowed to have people over and go on websites without parental hovering, so it sounds like this is the biggest embarrassment your father does to you. So I am going to jump to the fact, that while weird, your father is not abusive or emotionally manipulative, he is just odd. So, instead of being uptight, why not be thankful your dad is so delightfully strange and have a nice laugh and then ignore it.
