Today, the mall I work at started playing Christmas songs on repeat. It's the beginning of November. FML

A few weeks ago I was at a rather large retail chain and saw Christmas decorations right across from the Halloween decorations. Dressing as a homicidal Santa Clause for Halloween briefly crossed my mind.

Having spent a few years working in retail I can confirm this is the most soul destroying part of the run up the Christmas. Because nothing enforces Christmas cheer like playing jingle bells on repeat

After thanksgiving you're allowed to play Christmas music

Merry Christmas, holy shit, where's the Tylenol?

I feel you OP, I had to come into work at 6am this morning to set up Christmas decorations. I too work at the mall and many stores were doing the same. The holiday shopping season keeps starting earlier and earlier it seems.

I play Christmas music year-round. But only Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

I've always imagined that working in retail stores during the holidays is particularly annoying. A lot more people in the store, repetitive Christmas music, and just more stress in general. Seriously tho, I've been seeing Christmas things in the stores around here since last month

"Particularly annoying" doesn't even begin to describe it.

Just give up and kiss your sanity goodbye for the next two months. You can retrieve it by rebooting your brain at the New Year's Eve party.

Not to start an argument, and I totally respect all of our Veterans...buy that is absolutely no reason not to decorate your business, especially if the last two months of the year are when you make money. Business is business. It is not disrespectful and I am so tired of being told it is. Just sayin'.

They play Christmas music in Singapore?!

I needed to but a birthday present for my niece yesterday. I walked into Toys R Us, there was Christmas music playing. I walked right back out. I'll buy something on Amazon I guess.
