Today, the person who bullied me throughout my childhood eventually resulting in me going to therapy and switching schools became my boss. On top of that, he refers to me by the insulting nickname he called me during childhood. It's good to see that growing up hasn't changed him at all. FML

HR, stat. They might the able to change your shifts or relocate you. If not genuinely suggest looking for a different job because it sounds like he's picked up right where he left. I'd also suggest going very public about HR not doing anything, if they fail to act.

Exactly. I recommend the same as written above.

Payback time! Do whatever you can to piss him off. Then sue him or report him to HR for laying a finger on you. This ain't no kindergarten, there isn't a teacher urging you to solve this peacefully, bullying has consequences.

Hey, OP! There's a possibility the man doesn't know that it is hurtful and caused you harm. Try just telling him calmly that it is hurtful. Unless he is my girlfriend, he won't totally lose his shit and see it as a personal attack of their worth and shout an apology at you while countering it with false accusations and labels! Good luck! :)

If he's calling OP by the insulting nickname he used when they were kids, then the bully almost certainly DOES know that what he did caused harm--and not only that, he gets a kick out of it. There are a lot of mean and malicious people in the world; last year's U.S. elections made that abundantly clear.

Bullies usually do know when they are being hurtful, because the pain they cause their victims is the entire reason they bully. They get a power trip or even physical pleasure from it. It's also extremely unlikely that OP didn't tell the bully to stop calling them that name back when they were in school.

McFly...McFly.... [sorry ..been in that situation..it sucks ?]

You found this job, find another one.

I, too, was bullied in high school (grades 4 through 10 actually). It didn't stop until I stood up for myself. You need to stand up for yourself. Tell your boss to knock it off. Document his bullying first though, just in case he tries to retaliate.

HR or lawyer. File a complaint about harassment in the workplace.

Sadly for some people, maturity doesn't grow with age. You should definitely do what everybody else here is saying and report that scumbag to HR, they obviously can't do a thing about the bullying he did to you in the past, but they could (and should) do something about his behavior now.

I wish FML posted a sad emoji and so I could click that. I agree with everyone else; go to HR and file a claim against him. Or..you know..be the face on the news tonight. Either or. Something is better than nothing.

Let HR know that he is insulting you. You don't need to get into the stuff about your past. But that is inappropriate behavior for a boss/ colleague to do when in the work environment. Also spruce up your resume and get posting. It's healthier to leave then to suffer

Your options are: 1) go to HR 2) find another job 3) confront him and go off on him Personally I'd do all 3.
