Today, the woman I'm training at work asked, while staring intently at the keyboard, "now, which one of these buttons is the space-bar again?" She is 80 years old, types about 1 word per minute, and I have just one week to get her completely trained. FML

How does an 80 year old get a job while I can't? ?

Why can an 80 year old find a job and I can't?!

Because they can draw on a lifetime of experience and knowledge? Their C.V.'s (resume's) probably show years of company loyalty, which would also indicate reliability. Not to mention the fact that employer's are less likely for an elderly worker to call in sick on a Monday morning due to being hungover from a weekend of overindulgence...

How about your company hires somebody that isn't going to die in the near future? An 80 year old woman who knows nothing about computers shouldn't have been hired for a job requiring a computer. It's amazing that she got the job while people with college degrees can't even get a simple job in their field. FYL because your work sucks to put that burden on you.

you can't teach an old dog new tricks... hope your boss understand that... and shouldn't she be in... i dunno, retirement or a care home for elderly?

Sorry, that was horribly worded. I meant: How many days do you have left?

Im guessing the first or second day

Why is an 80 year old woman even working?

Oh god, I hope she isn't one of these people who think anything to do with a computer is scary, even concepts such as 'first name' or 'spacebar'. Just tell her 'its the same as on a typewriter'. I assume an 80-year-old lady is familiar witht the concept of 'typewriter'.

She says shes 80. She's actually so old she that is foreign. Get her and ink well and a feather.

Someone who is 80 this year would be born around1930. Typewriters first became common office tools around the turn of the century. If you're going to make dumb jokes, make dumb well-researched jokes please.

Absolutely! The op didn't make sense. Typewriters had a spacebar in the exact same place. Nothing has changed
