Today, was the first day of my sophomore year. While receiving my schedule, I burst into tears at the sight of a disfigured midget. I'm now seen as the school bitch for making fun of a midget. I have a genuine fear of midgets. FML

I'm not saying that all midgets are disfigured. what I meant was that that particular person has an actual disfigured face. And yes, I do have a legitimate reason for my fear. I don't feel inclined to share that reason because then all of the people who already believe I was being an ass will still not agree with me. the last thing I wanted to do was hurt/insult her.

Why the **** are you afraid of midgets?

13 - It's a strange fear but obviously there's a reason why she's scared of them. Also she probably can't control crying when she sees one. Think before posting another ignorant comment.

I think that if you explained to themthat you had this phobia, the others wouldn't consider ou a bitch anymore.. And also, explain your problem to the 'midget'. Not face to face, since you're afraid of him/her, but, write a letter, maybe? Oh & Don't forget, people will forget what happened soon, just give it time. xoxoxx!

@333 You have no idea why people have irrational phobias. You have no right to dismiss them just because they sound silly to you. You have no idea what happened in their life that might make an irrational fear for you a rational fear for them.

they are actually called dwarves, midget is disrespectful and I would also agree with the kids at school.

I have a phobia of midgets... Its not fair for all you people to judge op. The first time I was confronted by a midget I started crying and had to stop the bus to get off in the middle of no where. It's not like I enjoy making them feel bad or making a fool out of myself but there's some things you cant control. Now if I see one I just turn and walk the other way or my husband will tell me to leave if he sees one to spare the little person and myself a lot of humiliation.

I hear you. My fear is a little bit more common, but none the less irrational. I have hemophobia, the fear of blood, not gays and lesbians, as someone once assumed. That's HOMOphobia, not HEMOphobia. I occasionally babysit, and one of my restrictions on babysitting is 'No hemophiliacs', as I can barely handle normal people getting a cut. We once watched Supersize Me in Health, and during his lyposuction, I was turned around, looking down, hood up, and I was still shaking and sweating. I have actually passed out at the sight of a cut on my finger. And yet I am perfectly fine with periods.

Do you go to Lafayette high?

I am not normally politically correct, but please GTFO.

Calling them "midgets" is quite offensive to little people, so technically, you are making fun of them. I will never understand phobias like this. I'm only "scared" of two main things: heights and small spaces but a LOT of people I know are scared of those.
