Today, my class had a very important meeting about workplace safety. I thought I led some of my classmates to the meeting very well, until they informed me that I accidentally ran a red light on the way there. They brought this infraction up during the class every chance they got. FML

Today, I was conducting a meeting regarding safety concerns on my field site. While I made a comment, a client rep yelled out that women don't know construction, and that I should be acting like a proper secretary and should get my boss. I'm the Construction Manager. FML

Today, we can finally order badly needed safety gear for my crew. My boss flipped his shit, demanding that I "stop bringing it up, it's annoying" for doing my damndest to keep up with industry standards. I was brought to tears for literally doing my job, with no "peers" to back me, since I'm an HR department of one. FML

Today, at work, I leaned back in a chair too far, causing me to tip over and smash my head into a wall. If that wasn't enough damage, my boss keeps replaying the security footage to everyone I work with. My head hurts not from the fall, but the loud laughter that keeps coming from inside the office. I can only imagine that a lot of accidents have happened for them to have a presentation about it. Sounds like unsafe working conditions.

I work for a major plastics manufacturer, and they have a bonus program that is partially based on workplace safety. We also have regular safety discussions about various subjects. Still people get hurt due to various reasons. So we have to have more safety talks. I just try to not get hurt and then hope to get my bonus.

Accidents are going to happen one way or another. If they can't expect it, then it's incredibly irresponsible in the ownership standpoint and extremely unprofessional of the business.

That's generally the message behind all safety meetings... Most companies do these meetings cause they have to pay for your irresponsible actions on the job.
