Today, in an effort to try and be closer to my girlfriend's son, I bought him an expensive Xbox game I know he desperately wanted so we could play it together. He was excited, until he realised that I that paid for it. He snapped the disc and threw the pieces in the bin. At least I tried. FML

My priorities: My game consoles (I have a lot of them) My library (I like books) My significant other (if I currently have one) Having hobbies is what makes you unique, which is what your partner should find special about you. If a guy doesn't like my interests, tough. I'm not going to give up something important to me just to "prove my loyalty to him" (had a guy say that to me once over my Xbox :/) If you want to spend time together, play games with him. Next time he complains about you going shopping, invite him along. Turn your individual interests into things you can enjoy together instead of letting them drive you apart.
