That's horrible! YDI
I think it's an honest mistake and you should apologize instead of posting it on FML, because your case doesn't apply to FYL or YDI.
This is so ******* retarded... How could you not SEE that he had autism? They all look the same, facial like. This is not an honest mistake, this is solid proof that you are mentally retarded. I seriously hope you read this comment and then go out in the world with it in consideration to get some life experience aswell as education. KTHXBYE!
Thank you ladyvader, I was about to say the same thing. People really need to be sure about their facts before they post; it's nice to see at least someone has the correct information. I know a boy who has autism and he doesn't look any different than you or I.
I'm sorry for being a dick and so deeply retarded that I can't even keep two conditions apart, but still the OP is pretty stupid for not seeing that the brother was autistic. Now just vote that comment of mine down so we don't have to see it again. This is probably going to get me banned forever, so farewell.
Cheesehater, are you unable to read properly? We both said that there are no physical differences between a person with autism and a person without, and not all of them have a huge speech difficulty. Sometimes it is hard to detect.
you're*
I bet many people have met autistic people, and so have I. All of them have been extremely easy to get that they have been autistic, so if you disagree you are either deaf, blind or cursed with an IQ under 53. For the record I'm not an idiot I just made a hasted comment, and now, days later I come with an excuse and a little nice opinion. PS: By the way, I didn't get a ban :)
my brother has autism, it's alright, you didn't know. people are saying "what an idiot! like omg you can't just say that!!!!" but really it's nbd. and i appreciate the fact that some people that don't know anyone with autism are still educated on the subject. i did a speech on autism for english class and got an A+ (: if you have any questions on autism send me a message
thts just bad
An accent? That's strange.
Keywords
Everyone has an accent.
Alright, op, let me be the sympathetic one: if an "accent" is all you noticed, chances are that her brother is a high-functioning autistic. Autism varies from person to person. My step-mother works in SPED and gets a lot of autistic students in her classes. Some are high-functioning - I wouldn't have known there was anything different about them right away. Others have autism so severe that they can't make eye-contact or speak. My own step-brother is autistic and falls somewhere between the two. You did nothing offensive, you just felt a little humble afterward. That being said; My little brother and I were born and raised in Texas and he has a Boston accent.
