Today, while at the park, my 3 year-old ran up to a lady, grabbed her chest and loudly asked, "Are these your breasts? Are they private on you too?" FML

Kids are fascinated with boobs. They're still close enough to the age of breastfeeding, it's natural to be curious. The parent is teaching them, clearly. I would have laughed it off and says, "yes honey, they're private on me too." Easy way to help reinforce what a parent is teaching and a funny story later on. Anyone with kids knows that there are bound to be some embarrassing moments.

Hopping on board with the people who rightfully find what was done not cute and more in the wrong area. You got lucky the kid wasn't possibly hit since that's some peoples reflex to surprise groping from a stranger. Hope you at least had the kid apologize and use this a time to teach it that what it did was very wrong.

Dear Grandmother who doesn't care for chocolate covered bear hugs under her skirt. Referring to yourself as being treated as a chew toy and asking if people really want others to start kicking their children away? An awful lot of thoughts comparing a toddler to how some inhumane people treats dogs don't ya think. Bet your grandkids love to come over! Have they learned to sit in a cage at your home? Not nice to compare toddler with dogs. Adults neither. Then the dogs are way better!

You could have replied to her comment directly. Just to let you know.

How did he reach? Was the lady short or was he tall?

From his age and the way he phrased his question it should have been obvious to her that he had been curious about his mom's breasts, and had been told that they were private. All great the parenting in the world though can't always anticipate how a child's curiosity will react to new information. Hopefully she was a good sport - she probably has kids she's close to, even if she's not a mom herself
