Today, while babysitting, I brought over some colouring-in sheets as an activity. I said that I should bring some Christmas-themed ones for next time. The little girl then turned to me and said "If there is a next time." I've been put on probation by an 8-year-old. FML

I'm sure the 8-year-old is the one in charge of hiring babysitters. Who cares what she says?

YDI for babysitting, for bringing coloring sheets, and for not realizing that when she said "if there is a next time", it was a death threat and not a mere job probation.

depends on the tone of her voice she might just be considering the possibility. otherwise you're screwed

The kid is 8. They don't have filters at that age and just say exactly what they are thinking without ulterior motives. If she was making a threat she'd be way more blunt and say things like "I don't like you and I am going to ask my mom to fire you."

I don't know if it's just me, but by the age of 8 I was already taught how to filter things I say. Maybe I just have strict parents who over-obsessed with always saying the correct things.

You fail. Appropriate response: "Oh, your right. I forgot. If I murder you and bury your body in the backyard, I won't have to come back to this festering crap-hole you call a house. Now go to bed, I need to sharpen my axe."
