Today, while getting ready to welcome my first child into the world, my father in law decided to "help out" and threw out a bunch of papers I needed. Like my child's application for a health card, social insurance number, and my birth plan, as well as instructions from my doctor. FML

#13, I guess you're thinking of the character Andrew Ryan from the Bioshock games. Ayn Rand is one of the people on whom the character was based. Maybe take a little time off the video games and read a little.

That has to be the worst advice I have seen in a long time. They cannot be easily replaced. She needs to know that information so she is not charged exorbitant amounts of money from the hospital. On top of that, being a mother is about worrying.

im sure he didnt mean too. but you should have had them in a folder or something ready for hospital anyway love. they'll give you more paperwork@ the birth place. no worries

Normally on FML, stepfathers are douches most of time. So if you have anything in the past with your step father, then he may have done it on purpose. But it also could have been an accadent. Depends on his face and how good a liar he is when you question him about it. But what I say is FYL

Or, maybe OP left these important documents lying around loose in a messy way instead of keeping them securely in a folder somewhere. They would've deserved it a little then. I went for FYL though.
