Today, while waiting in line at Gamestop, another customer and the cashier started chatting about how Pokémon is for kids, and anyone over 10 who's into it is weird. Embarrassed, I put the new Pokémon game back on the shelf and snuck out of the store. FML

My entire family still plays pokémon and my parents are in their 40s now

You're never too old for what you love.

Why would you be embarrassed? If you like a game, the opinions of others shouldn't stop you from playing it.

Buy it online, where only google may judge you.

I would have marched straight up there, shrugged, said "guess being weird means enjoying myself with awesome games," and bought my pokemon. except I already would have had the game because midnight release, bruh

I had finally just completed the dex for the new omega ruby game! First Pokemon game I ever actually beat!

GOTTA CATCH 'EM AAAALLLL! I'm 24 and really don't care. I love Pokemon!

i would've said something like "excuse me i'd like to buy this copy of hitler's grand slam adventure", pay for it and run away

Sorry you had that experience, OP. Social anxiety sucks. :/ FWIW, adults who like the Pokémon games are hardly a minority, especially now that the kids who grew up with the first-gen Pokémon games are now adults. I'm 22 and I'm not heavily into Pokémon anymore, but I still play some of my childhood games like Crash Bandicoot and even watch some cartoons I was into as a kid, like Avatar. The way I see it, I'm a grown-ass adult who works and takes care of themselves in every way, and if indulging in a little fictional escapism makes life a little better for me, I'm going to do it and it's no one's damn business if I do.
