Today, while working in a call center at a university, someone threatened to report me to the President of the University because "I" wouldn't accept their daughter who had a 1.5 GPA and "got accepted into Harvard". I don't even make the decisions, I just answer calls. FML

The parent reported me to my supervisor, my super proceeded to pull the recorded tape of the call and took my side. Faith in humanity restored!

There is no way that kid got accepted into Harvard... Lol too funny.... Let them report you.... Everyone needs a good laugh

This is the culture of mediocrity where everyone deserves Harvard, even the terrible student. Everyone on the team gets a trophy for participation even if they lose, just in case one of them feels sad for losing. EVERYONE loses now and them. The ones who pick themselves up are the winners.

Someone must be pulling some pretty long strings if that kid got accepted...

Rich people can get their kids in pretty much any school, especially if they're an alumnus

1.5 and got into any reputable school... yeah that's a lie haha

If shes from the right family its reasonable she got into Harvard. With enough money and influence you can outright buy your degree.

She got into Hartford? Why are they complaining to the college you work at? I wouldn't even consider going anywhere else

So if she got accepted into Harvard, why is he making such a big deal about her not having a less prestigious option?

... Harvard community college?

*Faith in intelligent humanity restored. It would seem that you are dealing with mental polar opposites of humanity, leaving me to see no reason for you to hold faith in the original caller.

My favorite part is where the parent claimed her child was accepted to Harvard.

I've done calling people before... They can get nasty. I'm just glad they keep good record to back you up. Screw those lying, cheap a-holes!

Well op you just have to keep in mind that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree most times, and since the daughter has a 1.5 GPA which is probably weighted you can only guess what their parents GPA might be.

my gosh 1.5 gpa n got accepted into Harvard? that family should go publish a book on the how-to n all. I'd really LOVE to find out.

It'd be a pretty short book. The title would say it all: "WE LIED."

Or "We paid a shit ton more than others."

1.5 gpa is terrible. dowblnsyndrome bad

What in the flying f*** is dowbln syndrome?

I think they were trying to say down, not dowbln....I figure they tried to hit "N", but hit "B", tried to erase the "B" but ended up hitting the "L"....sort of Karma's way of making them look like an idiot for taking a tasteless stab at Down syndrome? I could be mistaken, but that's my take on it.

People with Down's syndrome are not that different, and they are also very smart. It is annoying to think that people think that because of that extra chromosome, they are inferior. This is even worse when it is coming from people who say that every one is equal, but then they say that people with Down's syndrome are stupid and are not equal, which I personally find idiotic. This is horrible because they do not know a single thing about Down's syndrome, but they think they are better than them. This is like how everybody thought that African-Americans were inferior to Caucasians back in the segregation era.

1.5 is a C. People with down syndrome can do much better than that :) Most people in my school get that grade and don't care because, " At least they passed." They don't even try to do better.

Who cares? Let him tell the President and the President will tell him off
