Today, after working 24 of the last 26 days, 12+ hour shifts in public safety, I find myself so exhausted, stressed, and depressed, that I'm literally sitting in bed, staring at the wall, waiting for my next shift. None of my hobbies or vices hold any interest for me whatsoever, and I'm being a bitch to my family. FML

Sounds like it’s time for a day off. Or two. Or 5…

Well, the public is still in danger! Thanks for your service.

Pretty sure this is a normal American lifestyle and why about 70% of all adults in the United States us prescription drugs. Either cut back or medicate.

No it’s actually real-I have been working in a hospital since way before the pandemic started and since it has happened and I’m still there… Never furloughed, never took a leave… There are shortages of 1 millions of supplies and people die a lot and it is just really ******* hard… I think I know what she means

Pretty much in the same boat, Contacted a therapist to see if I could get meds for constant energy and attentiveness. Turns out the office is only open 3 days a week. Which I feel like is very telling, 60+ hours weeks are no way to live and any decent therapist isn't going to do that to themselves.

damn, I feel for you. I've been in that situation before. you're already going thru it, then you unit lash out at your family, then you feel terrible for it. it's like a never ending string of shit getting worse and worse. I know it feels like you can't take anymore, but I promise you will get thru it. stay strong my friend, better days will come. you got this. I believe in you. :)
