lol that's exactly what I saw too!
So you cold cocked your cockatiel? What a ****-up.
Ha.
its ok, birds are quite smart, the trust may be depleted for the time being but if you keep being kind and caring they will see that. we have a rescued indian ringneck that hated everyone, weve had him a while now like a year he chats and flies to our hand and all sorts, and yes, ive accidentally hurt or scared him, but i have earned his trust and hes still as happy as ever. good luck, don't give up
Am I the only one that thought that birds naturally flew to someone's finger if they held it out? I didn't think that was somethings you actually taught them, I thought they did it on instinct.
@59, You have obviously never owned a bird before or know any of their biology. Birds naturally fear humans because they are predators. This is why you must build their trust. @13, good on you for rehabilitating a parrot, not many have the compassion or patience to do that.
No wonder your pet doesn't trust you OP. FYPL (f your pets life)
Toothless or not, he is just a bird, not a dragon. No need to panic.
You panicked because it did what you hoped it would do? Also, you panic at the site of your own bird approaching? Get a hamster, buddy. A plush one.
I shouldn't laugh that hard mostly that I'm in vet school
"A plush one." Is what got me laughing. Thank you
Probably hates you and you deserved it.
Your bird can learn to trust you again. Don't push it it'll take time.
I thought is said crocker spaniel at first so I was really confused at first

I'm not an expert, but I don't think that's how you play angry birds...
Awe your poor bird. I hope that doesn't ruin his trust.
