Said something like this in an exit interview, saying that I was looking to work in a different area of my chosen field and that "I hope never to do this kind of work again." I forgot that HR reps talk, even with their competitors. (They SHOULDN'T...but they do.)
I sat in an interview that I turned down on site (because I was tired of doing grunt IT work). My response to that same question was that I wanted to be sitting in the boss' chair. He already said he planned on retiring within 2 years. So, my response was Saif in full confidence of my abilities.
