Where's my stuff?

By freezingtodeath - 04/12/2010 00:11 - United States

Today, I went into Target's dressing rooms to try some pants on, leaving my full cart outside. An employee thought it had been left there, and took it to put the stuff back. My coat, hat, gloves were in it. I had to walk home. FML

i would have left a note hehe (:

Ydi they say not to bring your carts in dumbass

you could have told a team member and they could see who took your cart and make them find all your stuff again. it would only be a choice of like 3 people who would have taken it.

Then why didn't you try and find the person and they'll tell you where they put your stuff???

In case this happens to you again, as someone who works at Target, I can tell you that you could have found the Fitting Room Attendant and let them know. There is Always a Fitting Room attendant. Sometimes the Fitting Room attendant isn't back at the booth, they send us all around the clothing areas, and it's a real pain because a lot of times we can't get to the booth before you, and if we see you've decided to just enter without waiting or asking (you're really not supposed to just go on in) then a lot of times, we'll just go back to what we're doing because we have many duties to tend to, and little time to get everything done, especially with shoppers coming in and undoing what we've just done. It's not that you're not important, it's just too late if you head in when we're still pretty far away. We will try to finish our task to at least see you walk out, but a lot of times we can't get there before you leave, either. Seeing a Fitting Room Attendant before you enter reduces the chances of your cart getting sorted, as the Fitting Room attendant can let the Softlines Team Members know that the cart belongs to you and prevent this. However, just about any employee you see in the clothes is usually a Softlines Team Member, and Softlines Team Members are trained to act as the Fitting Room attendant if you cannot find him/her. If you are unable to find anyone in the clothes, any Team Member with a walkie/radio is capable of locating your belongings. You may also try using the red phones we keep in the clothing departments, as we have a time limit to get to that section, so you wouldn't have had to wait long at all and would have gotten a Softlines Team Member, which would be the best to try to find in this situation because they are in charge of the clothing. Many of the things in your cart may have even been back in the Fitting Room closet. If not there, try Guest Services. If your belongings were not brought up there, then they also have walkies/radios, so they can contact Softlines and ask about it. You shouldn't have just walked out. Plus, there was a high chance that your belongings weren't on the shelves yet, as it takes time to get them up there due to having to tidy up a lot of times, and there's usually a specific way things are put away. If we don't recognize the brand or realize later that the items are not from the store, they are eventually brought to the Lost in Found, as we cannot toss them without a DPCI number. In my store, the Softlines Team Members start with the Men's Section, then move onto Infants', Boys', and then Girls', after Girls' they go to Jewelry then finally they go to the Women's section and then finish off with Shoes. Many of the people who work there are very friendly, and more than willing to help.

You did NOT deserve that, OP. (I don't know why so many people said you did.) We've all done that and that's actually what we're suppose to do in the store.

why didn't you ask the clerk where she put your stuff? And who goes into a changing room and leaves their purse alone??
