Whoops

Today, I was helping a couple come up with a name for the baby they just had. I suggested "Joshua" thinking that it was an okay name. All sudden, the room got quiet. Turns out I had forgotten that Joshua was the name of their 3 year-old son who had died a couple months before. FML

Still the name would work to memorialize the kid.

#4 made me laugh so hard until I suddenly felt really, really guilty for laughing at it. And yay #92 for the Seinfeld reference!!!!! Okay....so it's a given that the OP already knew the couple had a son Joshua who died three months ago....but this is what I think: Maybe he or she had been the nurse throughout the mother's pregnancy and thus heard about Joshua dying but wasn't close enough to the couple to necessarily remember. If the OP were a friend/family member, I doubt he or she would call them "a couple."

How to forget a death? Especially when you say his name? P.S: I don`t get it:What are FYL, YDI and all those things?

It's classic human error it happens to everybody at some point or another To everyone saying YDI: it's called a memory lapse, we've all had one
