Wow there are a lot of harsh people on here. My friends are engaged or married at this point, and some of them have kids. I know it sucks to be the only single person in the group.

Ummm why would you treat your friends lunch on YOUR bday? they should be treating you.

How strange that the boyfriends just happened to show up. You were at the mall, they could have bought you a cheap trinket at least. Why exactly are you friends with these users?

It's called being generous, people. Sometimes it's better to give than to get. But, I've had to deal with this before. Except, it was an outing and they BROUGHT their boyfriends. Without telling me. If it happens again, tell them about it, and if they do it again after that, they're not good friends.

well i think it was very nice of you to treat your friends. too bad they didn't deserve it, but good on you for being such a great friend. hopefully you will find people that are as nice as you are :)

I don't actually see what is wrong with this. Who cares if they were holding hands with their bfs, it's your own damn choice not to walk with them? Or was it something else,? Against what many are saying, it sounds like they are good friends. It's not as if they invited their bfs when you're treating, and it's not as if you were forced to treat them to lunch. Like I said, you could of just sucked up whatever emotion you were feeling and walked with them, instead of feeling the need to make yourself walk behind them. Dude, it was your choice all along.
