Today, a very pretty girl came up to me and asked me for my phone number. Very pleased, I give it to her with a huge smile and tell her that I can be reached at any time. I then watch her go back to her group of friends. My number was for her gay friend, who then meekly waved at me. FML

Today, my friend and I went to a bar for drinks. I noticed this cute girl and went over to say "Hi." I had a great conversation with her and I asked for her number before she left. She passed it to me on a piece of paper with instructions specifying for my friend to call her and not me. FML

Today, I gave my phone number to a guy at the movie theatre. I was excited to receive a text a few minutes later, sure enough when I unlocked my phone I had received a message from an unknown number. It was his girlfriend. FML

Even if the OP had negative intentions with her that might ruin his relationship you can't assume that's what he would have done. I mean obviously she's pretty since she is the head cheerleader but there would be absolutely nothing wrong with him getting her number and texting her to find out if he genuinely likes her. It's rude to just automatically assume that OP is a cheating asshole who wouldn't break it off with his girlfriend before pursuing anything with a girl he likes more, or to assume that he wouldn't find her boring an just decide that he doesn't like her on his accord.
