Everyone's being so quick to call this chick a bitch, but did any of you stop to think maybe she has low self-esteem or isn't used to being asked out? Don't be so quick to judge.
I agree. The two things that pop into my head are either that the girl in question is used to being teased or has been the victim of such a prank in the past, or that the OP was overly jokey about it in the first place (possibly from being too nervous to do it straightforwardly, for instance).
