Today, my daughter and her boyfriend excitedly told me that after months of trying they are finally pregnant and that I'm going to be a grandmother. This would be great news if they weren't 15. FML

Let them keep it. Your daughter will quickly learn how hard it is to be a Mother. That's the biggest punishment and lesson you can give her.

They just want to make your dreams come true!

But completely unfair to her daughter's their child. Why should the child suffer just so she can "learn a lesson"?

4: And I agree to that, if they weren't so young. If the daughter was so willing to have a kid, then she should get her wish, and then learn how hard it is to juggle school and a newborn.

11: like what, abortion? What of OP is against that? The baby could go up for adoption but the daughter really sounded like she wanted that baby, but doesn't know the consequences.

Exactly what lesson do you want her to learn from this? Don't get pregnant at 15? I think it's a little late for that

abortion is illegal over here btw! Unfortunately she will have to keep it. She isn't even old enough to claim benefits to help pay for the child! Babies having babies :( I don't think they realise how hard it is being a mother or the crushing loneliness from being a teen mother. When all of your 'friends' leave you and ignore you because you aren't cool anymore. Then there is the flip side where gran will turn into mum because she is too young to deal with being a mum. Losing out on education! I had my boy when I was 19 and although I wouldn't never change it I do regret not being able to finish my a-levels... Silly silly girl really I would not want to be her or her mother

So let me get this straight... In order to teach a foolish 15 year old girl a lesson, you would destroy a completely innocent, unborn, baby's childhood? What kind of sick bastard are you? Personally, I would go on the side of adoption, in or out of the family.

They were TRYING to get the girl pregnant. "Teaching her to keep her legs closed" wouldn't have done anything; she was having sex with the intention of having a baby.

Sometimes it doesn't matter how many times you tell them to keep their legs closed. My mother drilled that into mine and my twin sister's heads. Thankfully I listened, but my sister for some reason got all rebellious and ended up getting pregnant as a teenager. I agree with you though; the teen pregnancy rate is disgusting.

Well it isn't surprising to hear about young teens wanting to start families, they never see the long commitment, and strain it is on relationships. Since they are still dependents they put the responsibility of their children on the parents, unfortunately.

I'm 19 and hope I *never* have kids. I just don't understand why someone would want them. Just seems like a burden to me.

Getting knocked up on purpose at a young age is shameful. Kick her outta the house. For being a total moron.
