A more innocent time…

Today, it's my 20th birthday. I recently came home from college to visit my family, after my mother had a stroke a few weeks back. She ended up being the only person who remembered to get me anything. She also thinks it's still 2009. FML

Hey at least that shows how much she cares about you that despite losing so much of her memory, she still remembered your birthday! Besides, lots of people that care about me wouldn't remember my birthday without some reminder!

You should be very appreciative of her though. The fact that she remembered even though she has health issues is great. And I'm sorry nobody else remembered op

At least she loves and still cares about you. I remember one birthday getting 0 calls or presents and waking up alone. I only got a call the day after because my grandfather thought my birthday was on the 19th, not the 18th. Anyway happy birthday!

I'm glad your mom is all right albeit some memory loss. As for your birthday, one of the most important people in your life remembered. That's what counts.
