Adding insult to injury

By Anonymous - This FML is from back in 2011 but it's good stuff - United States

Today, I was answering a text from one of my students asking me if they could retake a test. I thought I'd texted back, "No, you can't." Auto correct had used a more frequently used word: "No, you cunt." FML

well if that's on of your frequent used words YDI

You must be a cool teacher for letting your students text you! You might be cool enough to make them think it's ok to call them a ****.

or the bitch could learn how to use technology

Since when have the letters "A" and "U" been attached to the same key, whether on a T9-esque numpad or a full QWERTY keyboard, to even be considered for "autocorrect?" As far as I'm aware, autocorrect takes what you have typed so far and makes suggestions based on possible words from what has already been typed. You shouldn't blame technology because you're an idiot, or perhaps made a Freudian slip. Either way, proof read your shit before you send it.

Believe it or not technology is getting more advanced and if you spell a word wrong it will guess what you were trying to say, not always correctly. Obviously.

You can type random letters on an iPhone and it will autocorrect it to something, and even before you're done typing a word it has a suggestion there already.

No, you ****!!! Unless you are talking about "extra credit." In which case I am sure your oral report will earn you an "A"

you were texting with an accent duh. lol

Hey, Freddy. Maybe you could help me out with this. I'm a bit in the dark with the textinese lingo. What is YDI? I'm seeing it everywhere but I can't figure it out for the life of me.

Thank you very much. I appreciate that. :)

ohhh i thought it was 'you dumb idiot' :$

Seems like it would work either way. :)

No, no, no, YDI stands for Yuma Death Institute. See the Unofficial FAQ for more information.

op I don't see the need for concern just explain it was an autofill function from your super cool smart phone. To do with this business of the word '****' I don't personally see a problem with it most people are just to sensitive about the meanings of words and how they are used. in England we throw the word **** around like anything if your student can't handle this simple error then best he/she remove themselves from education as they are clearly heathen
