Adding insult to injury

By Anonymous - This FML is from back in 2011 but it's good stuff - United States

Today, I was answering a text from one of my students asking me if they could retake a test. I thought I'd texted back, "No, you can't." Auto correct had used a more frequently used word: "No, you cunt." FML

well if that's on of your frequent used words YDI

You must be a cool teacher for letting your students text you! You might be cool enough to make them think it's ok to call them a ****.

must be a frequently used word via text of yours because my phone never autocorrects to make can't = ****. YDI!!

Unless you put that in your personal dictionary, autocorrect would not use that word.

Not true. Some phones take frequently used words and uses those to correct with.

You're fired. Maybe even sued. At least potentially blackmailed forever by that student. Congratulations. Why people can't just talk in person, is so far beyond me. Technology is great...but I'm sorry, I see this as very unprofessional. YDI, OP.

That's quite an exaggeration.

That's really stupid. I talk to my teachers all the time through email or facebook. I'm on a first name basis with almost all of them. All the OP would have to do is explain it. She won't get fired or blackmailed for it-I know a ton of people who call and text their teachers. It happens all the time in college.

Guess you didn't get the part where I said, I think it's really unprofessional. As in, that's my opinion. Idc what the norm is...I think it's sad.

I'm sure they can't sue you for calling he/she and **** if they can that's retarded. On the getting sacked point you maybe up for a form of punishment and maybe not let you text any of your students.

Smart phones learn what words you use. You need some Orbit to clean up that dirty mouth.

What is the most used word on your smart phone, pen? Ah, never mind, I think I already know and I bet I'm '*******' right :D

Maybe she doesn't use it as a swearword on her phone, but as a descriptive word when sending pictures...

I sometimes text my teachers. It's not as big of a deal as everyone thinks. its just another mode of communication. None have ever called me a **** though. I thought this FML was pretty funny.
