Today, I took my mom out to a fancy restaurant, and spent close to $300 on her Mother's Day present. Later, my little brother drew her a card with crayons on pink construction paper. She cried. He's 20 years-old. FML

just goes to show money doesn't buy happiness

At least your Mom cares for the sentimental things. Mine bitched at me for not getting her anything. I'm 1,000 miles away and unemployeed. Called her several times throughout the day to at least wish her a Happy Mother's Day. She never picked up. She only called back to bitch at me.

There's some things money can 't buy. For everything else, theres mastercard. Sorry... I just thought that sounded cool. FYL.

seriously, be thank your mom isnt a materialistic person. goes to show putting your heart into a gift doesnt come with a large price tag. Most mom's preferr a heartfelt gift over an expensive one anyday, unless of course you have one of those that just wants stuff no matter what it is. You can make the same comparison to getting her a gift card. Yeah its easy but it doesnt really take much effort, tells her she isnt important enough to find a real gift for. Next time dont worry about how much you spend, give her something that you actually put some effort into.

Trying to buy your mom's feelings. Very smooth.

#28: My brother is 21 and physically bigger than me, but I'll always think of him as my little brother because that's how we grew up. At least your mom isn't materialistic. I'm a cheap grad student, I try to do nice things as presents for my mom (making her dinner, fixing her computer, being home in the first place, etc.) instead of spending money on gifts. All she says is "why didn't you buy me anything?"

LOL hi-larious. is your brother like special needs or something?

today, everyone thought you were a dumbass and your brother was a retard. FYL

yeah it makes sense if he's mentally challenged... but otherwise, that sucks for you :/

What he did took more effort than just dishing out $300 bucks. YDI.
