Bad timing

Today, my best friend's parents posted her wedding date on Facebook. My best friend got engaged a few months after I did. The only wedding plan I have come up with so far is a Fall 2022 wedding. My best friend is also planning a Fall 2022 wedding. FML

Sure is good that there's more than one day in Fall! Who cares, get married when you can and make sure your best friend KNOWS the date so they don't pick the same day/weekend/whatever. So you can actually attend each others weddings!

Getting married is not a competition to see who can get married first. It about finding/being the person who is going to be a good husband/wife. Your friend’s plans should not have anything to do with or be in competition with yours. Be glad you hopefully found someone who loves you and who you love and who is willing to commit to the relationship - That is what is important. Everything else is just decoration on the cake. It’s immature to expect the world to cater to your plans. Find out what day or weekend you friend plans to marry and pick a date that’s not in conflict if you want to attend your friend’s wedding and vice versa. Remember however that either yours or her plans might get shifted by some unforeseen event or scheduling issue. I suspect this coming fall is going to see a lot of weddings because of the delays until the pandemic is over.
